Issue #6: Transitions

Cantanker Visual Art Magazine is currently accepting submissions for Issue 6: TRANSITIONS, our annual juried summer catalog. Approximately 3,000 copies of the issue will be distributed throughout central Texas. Selected artists will be featured in Issue 6 and will be asked to submit additional work in any medium to be displayed in a group show at Big Medium, Austin to coincide with the catalog's release.
Submission Deadline: Thursday, July 31, 2008
Submission Guidelines:
- All works must measure 7 x 7 inches square
- Works can be executed in any media, traditional or digital/new media.
- Work must be submitted in black and white (Grayscale)
- All works must be submitted digitally in high-resolution jpg files (300 dpi - 2100 x 2100 pixels)
- Only recent or newly created work will be considered.
- Submissions must be made online at www.cantanker.com. Please note that submissions cannot be mailed.

- All artists are welcome to submit except those who are members of the Cantanker staff.
- Submitted work must either formally or conceptually address the theme TRANSITIONS.
- Artists should consider how their work will appear in the context of the printed page.
- Pushing boundaries is encouraged.
Entry Fee:
- $10 for a single submission, $20 for 3 submissions.
- There is no upper limit on submissions.
Jury Process & Dates
- Submissions will be juried by independent Texas curator Leona Scull-Hons
- Artists will be notified of their acceptance by August 12th
- Accepted submissions will be printed in Issue 6 of Cantanker with full credit given to the artist.
- If your work is selected you will be contacted by the Cantanker editorial staff with details regarding Issue 6: Transitions group show.
